Social Change
Social change can be defined as the way in which human interactions, relationships, behavior patterns, and cultural norms change over time. These changes ultimately transform cultural and social institutions, concepts, and rules, which will inevitably impact society for the long-haul.
CAUSES OF SOCIAL CHANGE

Many big group of people have changed their surroundings via concerted action, proving that there is power in number.

The financial status or well-being of a society can greatly influence the likelihood of social change, for better or for worse.
EXTERNAL FORCES
Human societies have some control over their own destinies, but every social group still falls prey to external forces at times.
INDIVIDUAL IMPACT

Sometimes, even just one individual, can at least partially change the values of a certain era. Charismatic leaders with both good and bad intentions have seized upon social concerns to inspire both good and bad change.
Why we chose this movement?
“Around the world, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBT) people face discrimination in almost all aspects of their lives. They are denied access to employment, education, and health care. They are targeted for attacks solely because of their gender expression or perceived sexual orientation. Perhaps most painful of all, and unlike most other minority groups, many face violence and rejection from their own families and religious communities. While these issues are extremely challenging, LGBT people are taking control of their own futures and winning major victories.” (Fund for Global Human Rights)
The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community and the spectrum of human sexuality and gender.
The color BLACK and BROWN were added to the Progress Pride Flag to represent People of Color (POC). Additionally, the black and brown stripes are meant to represent people living with HIV/AIDS, those who have died from it, and the stigma around the virus that is still present in our society now.
